Remote Learning Info & Resources

On the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the Victorian Government announced that regional and rural Victoria are now under Stage 3 restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). All students in Years 7-12 will move to remote and flexible learning.

These requirements apply to all schools across the government, Catholic and independent sectors in rural and regional Victoria, and are likely to apply until the end of Term 3.

On-site supervision of students will be available to:

  • Children whose parents cannot work from home and where no other supervision arrangements can be made (not only those defined as permitted workers)
  • Vulnerable children in out of home care, children known to child protection and other agencies and children the school identifies as vulnerable
  • Any child with a disability.

Orbost Secondary College has put together some helpful information to assist students and parents in accessing and using the programs that are being utilised during periods of remote learning.

Compass is the main program our school uses for teaching and learning activities and communication. Students can view their class timetable, learning activities, submit required work and view teacher feedback.

ebex classes support the learning of students and are an opportunity to connect with teachers and other students ‘face to face’. We expect that our school purpose and values will always be clearly visible, including during Webex classes.

Other programs we use include Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Once again, please don’t hesitate to make contact with the school if you require assistance.
